This is a digital story in which Jane and Dave, parents to baby Eleanor, recount the events that led to Eleanor's death at 72 hours old. Eleanor had acquired Group B Strep during her birth, but the signs and symptoms of the sepsis infection were not recognised by the hospital. The aim of telling this story is to help spread awareness of the signs and symptoms of GBS, and the importance of listening to patients and their carers. The story is used in midwife training.
Eleanor's parents provided a series of black and white photographs for this story. To augment the narrative I interwove my own illustrations along with a repetitive image of the signs and symptoms of GBS.
